Sunday bike ride will squeeze mid-Beach, Tuttle, downtown Miami traffic

Part of the path.

There’s another bicycling event this weekend that could slow traffic around our area.

The Live Long Live Strong bike ride starts at 7 a.m. Sunday at Gulfstream Park. Its path takes riders down AIA, Harding Avenue through Surfside, west on 63rd Street to Alton Road, and then south on Alton until going west again across the Julia Tuttle.

The route heads south along Biscayne Boulevard through downtown, then to Key Biscayne and all the way back north.

So, we can expect some heavier traffic much of Sunday morning on the Venetian Causeway, road closings across the causeway in the general area of The Miami Herald and Adrienne Arsht Center as bikers head south and then north on a return to Gulfstream Park. There will be impact on mid-Beach, North Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles as well.

The price of living in paradise.
