Guide to not-so-early voting on Miami Beach, Miami-Dade

Your Belle Isle Blog wanted to early vote this morning, and got tripped up by the Miami-Dade Election Department’s effort to provide people with early morning and early evening hours to vote before the Aug. 24 primary.

So when we went to Miami Beach City Hall, we couldn’t find the polling place — only big signs advertising early voting. And none listed the hours, so we went through City Hall, floor-by-floor. You’d think they would post some information, or someone at city hall would know, but no.

We’re not complaining (really), we just didn’t pay close enough attention, and don’t want you to make the same mistake.

This week, early voting happens between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. til Friday (Last week was 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.)  You can vote Saturday between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.

The polling place at Miami Beach City Hall (1700 Convention Center Dr.) is in the pension office on the first floor, and there are 19 other locations around Miami-Dade.

Here’s a link to all the Miami-Dade locations and their hours.

Of course, you can always vote on election day, Tuesday, at your official precinct (check your voter registration card) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
