Walking to discounts — who’s In and who’s out

There is a sign at Epicure that says it won’t accept the InCard after today.

The InCard is that discount card started by the Miami Beach chamber that provides discounts on food, restaurants, spa services and attractions, lots of them walking distance from our homes in Belle Isle. It’s free if you register.

Epicure, our favorite gourmet shop with our least-favorite prices, offered 10 cent off for the InCard. No more.

But there are lots of other places within a stroll still on the card. A sampling:

The Standard offers free spa membership and 10 percent off spa services and a 10-class Yoga Card.

— On Lincoln Road, 10 percent off at the Cafe at Books&Books, the Hofbrau, Maya, Ghiradelli, Lucky Strike (free shoe rental, too)

— On Alton Road, 10 percent off at Asia de Cuba at the Mondrian, Quarterdeck, Taste Bakery, 15 percent off at Giardino Salad Creation, and a taco deal at Lime.

— Museums and attractions (Bass, Wolfsonian, Miami City Ballet, New World) all have discounts, too.

  1. I’m going to boycott Epicure- even with a discount, their prices are high, but I can go to the new Publix on the Local and get great gourmet prepared foods and products.
